Argentina reduces pilotage tariffs and extends Hidrovía toll discount
The Argentine government, through the National Ports and Navigation Agency (ANPyN), approved a 20% cut in the maximum fees for pilotage and tug services. The reduction, set out in Resolution 46/2026, is provisional and aims to defuse a port‑sector conflict that began after Decree 690/2026 sought to deregulate the industry. The measure follows earlier decrees that suspended the reform and restored the previous regulatory framework.
Separately, the General Administration of Ports (AGP) extended a toll bonus on the Hidrovía north of Santa Fe. Resolution 105/2026 keeps a discount of US$1.30 per ton in place retroactively from 1 July 2026 until the new concessionaire, the joint venture Jan de Nul – Servimagnus, formally takes over operations. The extension is intended to preserve cost stability for river transport users during the transition.
