Argentina declares agricultural emergency in Buenos Aires
The Argentine national government has officially declared an agricultural emergency and/or disaster for rural operations affected by flooding in the 9 de Julio district and parts of Necochea in the province of Buenos Aires.
Signed by Economy Minister Luis Caputo via Resolution 1850/2026, the measure covers the period from May 1 to October 31 of this year. In Necochea, the recognition includes districts II, III, IV, and XII, while the entire territory of 9 de Julio is included.
The decision follows documentation from the Buenos Aires province and recommendations from the National Commission for Agricultural Emergencies and Disasters. Under Law 26.509, affected producers can apply for assistance by presenting certificates from provincial authorities. The resolution also instructs national banks and the Agency of Tax Collection and Customs Control (ARCA) to facilitate access to legal benefits.
