Argentina declares four‑day July 2026 holiday; banks to close July 9‑12

Argentina will observe a four‑day holiday from Thursday 9 July to Sunday 12 July 2026. Thursday marks the national Independence Day, a fixed public holiday commemorating the 1816 declaration of independence. The government has also designated Friday 10 July as a non‑working day for tourism, allowing many workers a long weekend.

All public administration offices will be closed on the two holiday days. The Central Bank has classified both Thursday and Friday as banking holidays, so bank branches will not serve the public on 9 and 10 July; weekend days are already closed. Customers can still access cash through ATMs, use debit or credit cards, and conduct transactions via home banking, mobile apps, virtual wallets and cash‑withdrawal services offered by supermarkets and other merchants.
