Argentina: Deputy denounces privatization irregularities

National Deputy Florencia Carignano has denounced irregularities and a lack of transparency in the privatization process of state-owned companies being promoted by the government of Javier Milei.

Carignano and other legislators have requested that the Bicameral Commission for State Reform summon responsible officials to provide information regarding these operations. Specifically, they have called for the appearance of Diego Chaher, head of the Agency for the Transformation of Public Companies (ATEP), along with authorities from the National Valuation Tribunal and representatives from eight companies currently under analysis.

The companies mentioned in the request include Belgrano Cargas y Logística, Aerolíneas Argentinas, SOFSE, Corredores Viales, Aguas y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA), Energía Argentina (Enarsa), Intercargo, and Yacimientos Carboníferos Río Turbio (YCRT).
