Argentina detains woman for vehicle damage and man accused of fatal arson
A 50‑year‑old woman, Yolanda Beatriz Carrillo, was detained in the 72 Viviendas neighbourhood after she allegedly smashed the left side window of a vehicle during a dispute with a neighbor. A judge later approved the detention and issued a restraining order prohibiting her from contacting the victim or the victim’s family.
In a separate case, a 47‑year‑old man identified as M.R. was charged with intentionally setting fire to a home in Claypole, Buenos Aires Province, killing his partner, teacher Karina Gladys Ocampo. Prosecutors have asked a court to impose preventive detention while the aggravated homicide case proceeds, citing evidence and witness statements that the suspect claimed the victim had cheated on him.
