Argentina dismantles luxury vehicle theft ring

Authorities in Argentina have dismantled an organized crime ring specializing in the theft of high-end vehicles, including Toyota Hilux and SW4 models. The operation involved simultaneous raids in the provinces of Córdoba and Tucumán.

Investigations revealed that the criminal network operated across provincial lines. Members in Córdoba provided the specialized technology and equipment required to bypass vehicle security systems and start the engines. Once stolen, the vehicles were handed over to accomplices in Tucumán, who transported them north to be smuggled into Bolivia for sale or exchanged for drugs.

In Córdoba, the group also modified vehicle chassis and engines to facilitate the sale of stolen cars using fraudulent documentation. The crackdown included 100 raids in Córdoba, with several arrests made in Tucumán, including three local members.
