Labor sectors in Argentina and Dominican Republic receive wage increases

Labor authorities and commissions in Argentina and the Dominican Republic have approved new wage structures for specific sectors.

In Argentina, the National Commission for Domestic Work has established a series of monthly increases for domestic workers through December 2026. The schedule includes a 1.9% increase in August, followed by smaller incremental adjustments in subsequent months. Additionally, a one-time non-remunerative bonus was agreed upon for August, with portions of this bonus being progressively incorporated into the basic salary through November. The agreement covers various categories, including general cleaning, caregiving, and supervisors, and introduces new regulations such as a six-month probationary period and electronic pay stubs.

In the Dominican Republic, the National Wage Committee approved a 20% gradual increase for construction workers. This adjustment is being implemented in two stages: an initial 12% increase is already in effect, with the remaining 8% scheduled for implementation in June 2027. The measure aims to improve the purchasing power of workers in the construction sector while allowing employers time to adapt to rising labor costs.
