Argentina implements August pension and wage adjustments
Argentina is implementing several social security and wage adjustments for August. ANSES has announced updated payment schedules and amounts for retirees and pensioners. Minimum pensions will receive a 1.89% increase, bringing the base to $419,775.92, supplemented by a $70,000 extraordinary bonus. For those with higher incomes, the $70,000 bonus will be applied proportionally until a cap of $489,775.92 is reached.
Other notable adjustments include a 5% increase for public agents starting August 29 and a 2.1% increase in fees for disability services based on July inflation. Domestic workers have also reached agreements for salary increases and bonuses of up to $20,000.
In Santa Fe, provincial authorities are demanding the national government fulfill a $120 billion agreement to fund the provincial retirement fund, citing a two-month delay in transfers from ANSES.
