Argentina drug trafficking convictions in Bahía Blanca and Goya
In Argentina, two separate drug trafficking cases resulted in prison sentences.
In Bahía Blanca, Sergio José Aguilera was sentenced to four years in prison following an abbreviated trial. An investigation led by prosecutor Mauricio Del Cero revealed that Aguilera sold cocaine and marijuana through both physical meetings and a delivery service between January and March 2023. The case was initiated after police intercepted Aguilera with marijuana in a backpack.
In Goya, Silvia Itatí Solís was sentenced to four years and six months of effective prison time. This proceeding marked the first oral and public trial for drug micro-trafficking in the region, conducted under new provincial judicial competencies. The court found her guilty of drug possession as a secondary participant.
