Argentina e-commerce reaches 28% of total sales

E-commerce in Argentina has reached a structural milestone, now accounting for an average of 28% of total company sales, according to a report by CACE-KANTAR. This represents an increase from the 25% recorded in 2025.

During the first half of 2026, total billing reached 19,533,815 million pesos, a 28% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The most prominent categories by revenue include Food and Beverages, followed by White Goods and Tools/Construction. Regarding payment methods, credit cards remain the leader at 46%, though digital wallets (21%) and online debit (12%) are gaining ground.

On the consumer side, 85% of users made online purchases in the last 12 months, with 16% being first-time buyers in 2026. International shopping is also rising, with 60% of Argentines having made an overseas online purchase, primarily driven by better prices and a wider variety of brands. Mercado Libre remains the preferred platform with a 31% preference rate.
