Argentina economic analysts project wholesale dollar trends
Economic analysts are projecting trends for the Argentine wholesale dollar as the market seeks stability amidst fluctuating inflation rates. According to a report by FocusEconomics involving 47 economists, certain highly accurate firms are revising their year-end forecasts.
Notably, MAPFRE Economics has lowered its projection for the wholesale dollar at the end of the year to $1,658, a significant decrease from its July estimate of $1,843. This revised figure suggests a projected annual advance of approximately 14% for 2026, which is notably lower than the 31.6% inflation rate predicted by the same group of experts.
In the broader financial context, the Argentine market is navigating a tension between the exchange rate and interest rates. Experts suggest that while the dollar faces resistance near the $1,500 level due to short-term interest rate interventions, the economic focus remains on fostering business investment to drive sustainable growth and competitiveness.
