Argentina enacts law to curb e‑cigarette use in Catamarca

The Senate of Catamarca Province approved Law No. 5950, a comprehensive framework aimed at discouraging the consumption of electronic cigarettes. The legislation bans the sale of vaping devices to persons under 18, requires retailers to display warning signage, and restricts use in enclosed workplaces, public indoor spaces and all educational institutions. It aligns with national regulations issued by ANMAT and the Ministry of Health, which prohibit battery‑powered aerosol devices. The law also emphasizes prevention, regulation and control measures to protect children, adolescents and young adults, citing scientific evidence of health risks associated with vaping. In the same session, the Senate approved a series of resolutions related to infrastructure projects and health initiatives for the province.
