Argentina executives expect economic improvement over the next year

A survey by the Instituto para el Desarrollo Empresarial de la Argentina (IDEA) of 218 company directors found that 80% of executives anticipate a better economic situation in Argentina within the next twelve months, with 68% expecting a moderate improvement and 12% foreseeing a much better scenario. Only 6% foresee a deterioration, while 14% expect conditions to stay the same.

The respondents cite macro‑economic stabilization—lower inflation, a more balanced exchange rate, a fiscal surplus and growing international reserves—as the main reasons for optimism, but warn that stagnant consumer demand and reduced purchasing power remain key concerns. Regarding specific variables, 68% expect inflation to fall, 57% anticipate lower interest rates, 74% project GDP growth, and 84% foresee a moderate rise in the dollar. The IDEA index, which had been projected at 72 points for 2025‑2026, actually fell to 62, yet executives still project a 71‑point index for the coming year.
