Argentina expands child protection programs with UNICEF and football league

Governor Marcelo Orrego of San Juan Province signed a memorandum with UNICEF Argentina and the Defensoría de los Derechos de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes, together with the municipalities of Capital, Santa Lucía, Rivadavia, Chimbas and Rawson. The agreement aims to implement the MUNA (Municipios Unidos por la Niñez y la Adolescencia) program and strengthen a comprehensive system for protecting the rights of children and adolescents in the region.

The Regional Football League of Río Cuarto announced a parallel initiative to prevent violence in youth football. In cooperation with the Defensoría del Pueblo and a local university, the league will study the causes of violent conduct in lower‑division matches and run awareness workshops for clubs and participants. The program also continues to use the REFI digital entry‑control system to monitor attendance at games.
