Argentina expands digital payment adoption and security training
The Argentine Subsecretariat of Development and Entrepreneurship, together with the Banco de la Nación Argentina, conducted a free workshop in Concordia on digital payment methods and cybersecurity for entrepreneurs, merchants and independent workers. Subsecretary Gabriel Enguelberg highlighted the event as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, improve business management through new technologies and promote financial inclusion.
Economist Gustavo Neffa explained to Canal E that digital wallets now reach about 79 % of Argentine consumers, driven by practicality, security and the convenience of using a mobile phone instead of a physical wallet. He noted that fintech tools—including QR codes, interest on idle balances and links to cryptocurrencies—have accelerated adoption, support government formalisation goals and are being used across both private and public sectors.
