Argentina expands local gender protection and support services

Local authorities in Argentina are implementing new measures to strengthen gender-based protection and support services.

In the city of Wanda, Misiones, officials confirmed the upcoming creation of a specialized Women's Police Station. The initiative, driven by local management in response to community demands, aims to provide a dedicated space for women facing domestic and gender-based violence. The station will offer legal advice, professional accompaniment, and reporting services, requiring additional police personnel and resources to alleviate the workload of the current general security station.

In Saladillo, municipal leaders met with provincial directors to integrate a dedicated municipal employee into the Casa de la Provincia. This role is designed to act as a territorial link with the Ministry of Women, focusing on coordinating responses to gender-related issues and facilitating direct access to provincial public policies for local residents.
