Argentina expands municipal training programs for school staff and youth employment

In Chacabuco, a second mental‑health training session for school auxiliary staff was held under the theme “Building Community in School is Mental Health.” Organized by the municipal Subsecretariat of Mental Health together with the School Council, unions and the UTN‑Aula Chacabuco, the workshop emphasized links between work, pleasure and suffering and aimed to develop collective tools for workplace well‑being. Lic. Fernando Lescano noted that the initiative follows the mayor’s political decision to provide integrated, territorial‑based mental‑health services.

Meanwhile, municipal coordination secretary Mario Benavente and provincial education minister Mariela Nassif toured the Instituto Tecnológico de Santiago del Estero (ITSE) where the “Santiago Crece con Vos” program offers technical courses—including surveillance systems, 3D printing, networking, automation and garden maintenance—to equip young Santiago del Estero residents with concrete job skills. Both initiatives reflect local authorities’ efforts to link education, health and employment opportunities for their communities.
