Argentina expands National Breastfeeding Survey to Jujuy and Santa Cruz provinces

Argentina’s Ministry of Health has launched the latest edition of the National Breastfeeding Survey (ENaLaC/ENALAC) across multiple provinces. In Jujuy, the survey began on Monday and will continue until 20 July, covering 84 public health centres to collect data on infant feeding practices, compliance with Law 26.873, and other nutrition indicators. The results will be used to adjust provincial nutrition policies and improve support for families.

In Santa Cruz, the survey runs from 22 June to 10 July in 36 selected health facilities. Families attending these centres are invited to participate voluntarily in brief interviews. The federal initiative aims to estimate breastfeeding prevalence, compare outcomes with previous years, and assess factors such as formula advertising, providing evidence to strengthen public‑health policies for early childhood nutrition.
