Argentina expands private road concessions via Red Federal de Concesiones

Argentina has initiated Stage III of the Red Federal de Concesiones, transitioning over 3,900 kilometers of national routes to a private management model. This program, which eventually covers more than 9,000 kilometers, involves various concessionaires responsible for the administration, maintenance, and financing of road works and tolls.

In Mendoza, the Caminos del Aconcagua consortium—comprising Laugero Construcciones, Green, and Corporación del Sur—has secured a 20-year contract for Ruta Nacional 7. The works will cover 329 kilometers of the Cuyo section, stretching from the San Luis border to the Chilean international border. Initial efforts will focus on improving transitability through asphalt patching, fissure sealing, and repairing road signage and safety elements.

In the northeast of the country, Caminos Selva S.A. has assumed responsibility for the Northeast Section. These strategic corridors are vital for regional connectivity, logistics costs, and the movement of goods and tourism. While private companies manage the infrastructure, Vialidad Nacional will maintain oversight to ensure service levels and road conditions meet required standards.
