Argentina expands public assistance for seniors and legal aid

The Armstrong City Council has approved a new ordinance to provide support and defense for elderly citizens. This initiative expands the existing Consumer Defense office to include assistance for managing digital procedures related to PAMI, ANSES, and various health insurance providers. The role, which is an ad honorem position, aims to help seniors overcome technological barriers in daily administrative tasks.

In Buenos Aires, the Procuración General is promoting its Free Legal Service to the Community. This program provides no-cost legal representation for residents facing family law issues and cases of violence. The service offers multidisciplinary support from the start of a legal process through its conclusion, aiming to facilitate access to justice for those without the financial means to hire private counsel.
