Argentina provinces launch new tourism and cultural development initiatives

Various Argentine provinces are implementing new initiatives to bolster tourism, culture, and regional identity.

In Chubut, the Municipality of Sarmiento and the provincial Ministry of Tourism are working to reopen historical trails and promote astrotourism within the Sarmiento Petrified Forest Protected Area. The project aims to diversify tourism offerings and manage visitor flow to reduce environmental impact.

Tucumán and Córdoba have signed a commitment to develop religious tourism centered on the legacy of Cura Brochero. The initiative seeks to establish the ‘Camino del Santo Cura Brochero’, a circuit connecting historical sites where the priest performed missionary work.

La Rioja has introduced a quality management guide for gastronomic establishments alongside the ‘Sabores Riojanos’ catalog. These tools are designed to professionalize the sector and promote local culinary traditions as part of the provincial tourist experience.

In Santa Fe, the government launched a Cultural Promotion Regime. This program allows private entities to support cultural projects in exchange for tax credits on Gross Income tax, aiming to foster development in infrastructure, heritage, and cultural production.
