Argentina expands restorative justice program and seized‑asset law

The Justice of the City of Buenos Aires will adopt the "Involucrados" program, a restorative‑justice initiative first piloted in the Almirante Brown district. Targeted at 16‑ to 18‑year‑olds who have come into conflict with the penal system, the scheme offers a year of personalized accompaniment, including education continuity, vocational training, employment support, psychological counselling and a volunteer guide.

In the national legislature, deputies have re‑introduced bill No. 2521‑D‑2026, called “Bien Restituido”, which proposes a dedicated agency to manage assets seized from organized‑crime groups. The proposal seeks to transform those assets into resources for repairing victims and funding social projects, with transparent oversight and mechanisms to preserve their economic value. The bill is backed by multiple parliamentary blocs and civil‑society organizations.
