Argentina expands teacher training for literacy across multiple provinces
Eight hundred and fifty teachers and trainers from Santa Cruz, Catamarca, Corrientes, Chubut, Entre Ríos, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan, Santa Fe and Tucumán attended two editions of a national Literacy Trainer Meeting in Buenos Aires from 29 July to 8 August. The sessions, led by specialists from CIIPME‑CONICET such as Dr. Celia Rosemberg and Dr. Marina Ferroni, aimed to strengthen the capacities of those supporting classroom teachers and to consolidate a collaborative network for the implementation of the Provincial Literacy Plan Plen@ in Santa Cruz.
In Salta, the third MATEO literacy‑training workshop was held in the departments of General San Martín and Rivadavia, reaching 140 educators—including primary teachers, bilingual assistants and inclusion support staff. Participants received the second edition of the teaching guide and classroom materials, and deepened strategies for reading fluency, word decoding, vocabulary instruction and dialogic reading, as part of the federal commitment to literacy and Salta’s jurisdictional plan.
