Argentina expands technical education in Concordia and ratifies a 17.9% teacher pay rise in Santa Cruz

The Council of General Education (CGE) approved the creation of a seventh year for the Technical Cycle in Electricity with an Industrial Electronics orientation at Technical School No. 1 in Concordia. The measure, effective from the 2026 academic year, allocates 28 permanent teaching hours and adds eight supplementary hours, allowing the school to finalize its curriculum and resolve months of uncertainty for students awaiting valid qualifications.

The Regional Association of Technical Teaching (AMET) in Santa Cruz province voted to accept the provincial government's latest salary proposal. The agreement provides a cumulative 17.9% wage increase, reimbursement for days lost during a strike, a safety‑and‑hygiene allowance for workshop instructors, guarantees of job stability and the advancement of the next collective bargaining round.
