Argentina expands tourism with new mountain adventures and air links

Scarabajo Viajes and Alavron Expeditions have unveiled a multi‑year agenda for the northern Neuquén region, offering trekkings, group outings and mountain climbs from August 2023 through January 2027. The program includes a low‑difficulty hike to Cerro Moncol, the three‑day high‑demand “Entre Corrales” trek linking Tricao Malal and Chos Malal, and a September walk to Laguna La Primavera, with combo packages that provide accommodation and guided routes.

In Santa Cruz, state tourism secretary Diego Gamboa outlined Horizon Explorer's initiative to improve air connectivity across Patagonia. Operating from the El Calafate aeroclub, the proposal seeks regular links to El Chaltén, Punta Arenas, Torres del Paine and other destinations, with discussions about full‑day excursions to Río Gallegos and potential new routes from Santiago de Chile or São Paulo. The aim is to attract higher‑spending tourists while eventually lowering fares for broader market access.
