Metrogas license extended to 2047 in Argentina

The Argentine government has signed an agreement to extend Metrogas's gas distribution license for 20 years, moving the expiration date from 2027 to 2047. As part of the agreement, Metrogas is required to invest US$ 186.8 million in gas infrastructure over the next 10 years. The extension also requires the company and its controllers to withdraw all existing legal claims against the State. This regulatory certainty is expected to facilitate YPF's planned sale of its 70% stake in Metrogas to the Edenor group.

Separately, ANSES has announced the October payment schedule for retirees and pensioners. Following a 1.66% mobility adjustment, the minimum pension is set at $435,748.51. To ensure no beneficiary earns less than a unified ceiling of $505,748.51, the agency is implementing a variable 'mini bono' for those falling below that threshold.

Additionally, the Ministry of Economy has decided to extend energy subsidies for electricity and gas through October. This measure aims to mitigate inflation by limiting average tariff increases to 1.64% for electricity in the AMBA region and 2.24% for natural gas nationwide.
