Argentina faces significant decline in PISA education rankings

Recent PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) evaluation results indicate a significant decline in educational performance in Argentina. The data, published following assessments conducted in September 2025, reveals the largest drop in student achievement since 2006.

In subjects including Mathematics, Language, and Science, nearly 50 percent of the fifteen-year-old students evaluated demonstrated low performance levels. Out of 91 participating countries, Argentina ranked 75th. Within the region, the country placed behind Uruguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador. Additionally, reports indicate that 55 percent of third-grade primary school students have not reached the required proficiency levels.
