Argentina families confront higher vacation costs and parental burnout

A survey of 727 Argentine parents of children under 15 reveals that 87 % want to vacation with their kids, yet 84 % would welcome a few hours to themselves each day. The study shows 62 % of mothers and 50 % of fathers consider family holidays not truly relaxing, reflecting growing exhaustion among parents.

Separate research indicates that a typical Argentine household will need roughly 2.45 million pesos (about 1.3 average wages) for a winter vacation in 2026. Compared with the previous year, purchasing power for tourism has fallen 5.4 %, as costs—especially accommodation—have risen while wages lag. The price gap is especially pronounced for destinations such as San Martín de los Andes, where expenses are three times higher than in San Clemente.

These findings suggest both rising parental strain and decreasing affordability of domestic travel for many Argentine families.
