Argentina food exports rise under quality certification seals

Argentina's food and agro-industrial exports identified with quality differentiation seals saw significant growth during the first half of 2026. Sales under the ‘Alimentos Argentinos’ seal reached USD 661 million, a 15% increase compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 317,000 tons.

Key products exported under this seal include chilled and vacuum-packed beef (USD 221 million), peanuts and peanut paste (USD 145 million), pre-fried and frozen potato products (USD 106 million), squid (USD 55 million), and fresh pears (USD 43 million). Major destinations for these goods include Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, and Chile.

Additionally, exports of products with Denominations of Origin (DO) and Geographical Indications (IG) rose by 83.5% in value to USD 43 million. Yerba mate and tea were prominent in this category, with Syria being the primary destination for DO and IG products. The ‘Alimentos Argentinos’ seal is a national brand requiring companies to follow specific quality protocols regarding capture, processing, and conservation to ensure traceability and added value.
