Diego Spagnuolo defense seeks to annul ANDIS investigation

Lawyer Mauricio D’Alessandro has announced plans to request the annulment of the judicial case involving Diego Spagnuolo, the former head of the National Disability Agency (ANDIS). The move follows a forensic report from the National Gendarmerie’s Directorate of Criminalistics and Forensic Studies, which concluded it could not verify the authenticity of the audio recordings that triggered the investigation.

The technical report identified features consistent with re-recording, abrupt cuts, discontinuities, and acoustic inconsistencies that are incompatible with a continuous recording. Experts noted that the chain of custody had been interrupted before the forensic stage, making it impossible to rule out manipulation or the use of artificial intelligence to alter or generate voices. Additionally, the report stated that the voices in the recordings could not be technically assigned to the accused individuals.

The investigation into alleged bribery and corruption within ANDIS, involving pharmaceutical providers and drugstores, remains under the jurisdiction of federal judge Ariel Lijo. While the defense characterizes the recordings as an intelligence operation, judicial sources indicate that the inability to authenticate the audio does not automatically close the case, as prosecutors may rely on other evidence.
