Argentina government restricts press access to Casa Rosada

The Argentine national executive has reportedly taken measures that impact press access and freedom. The government has restricted access to the Casa Rosada press room for a group of accredited journalists, citing concerns over a “hybrid war” allegedly funded by Russian intelligence and the need to combat disinformation.

Journalists reported that their digital credentials were disabled in the biometric access system. Consequently, access is now being managed via manual list checks by Casa Militar and Federal Police personnel. This follows recent rhetoric from the executive branch, including social media posts criticizing the press.
