Argentina submits 2027 budget bill projecting 4% growth
The Argentine government, led by President Javier Milei and Economy Minister Luis Caputo, has submitted the 2027 budget bill to Congress. The proposal outlines an economic roadmap for the 2027 fiscal year, which will coincide with presidential elections.
Key macroeconomic projections include a 4% expansion of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and an annual average inflation rate of 21.1%. The government expects inflation to decelerate to 18% by December 2027. The budget also projects an average exchange rate of approximately $1,728 per dollar throughout the year, reaching a nominal rate of $1,847.60 by December.
The administration aims to maintain its core policy of fiscal balance, targeting both primary and financial surpluses for the fourth consecutive year. Total consolidated expenditures are projected at $216 trillion, while total resources from taxes and social security are estimated at $219.3 trillion. Additionally, the government anticipates record exports exceeding $130 billion and a trade surplus in goods and services of more than $15 billion.
