Argentina advances major transport and energy infrastructure projects

Argentina is undergoing several infrastructure developments focused on transportation and energy. In San Juan, the government is executing a major project for Route 40 North between Albardón and Jáchal. Funded by the Vicuña mining project, the 143-kilometer work includes constructing a dual carriageway in some sections and improving road safety and connectivity to the Agua Negra International Pass.

Related to the mining sector, the National Energy Secretariat authorized Vicuña Argentina S.A. to build a 93 km, 220 kV high-voltage power line to support its copper, gold, and silver operations. This project involves significant investment and is linked to the development of the Vicuña mining district.

In the transport sector, the national government has defined the concession of 329 kilometers of Route 7 in Mendoza to a local consortium for maintenance and toll operation using an automated system. Additionally, IEB Construcciones has been pre-awarded a 20-year concession for 276 km of routes in Entre Ríos.

Energy infrastructure is also expanding in other regions, including a new high-voltage line in Entre Ríos to increase power supply and a major transformer station project in Santa Fe to benefit 10,000 users.
