Argentina faces multiple road disruptions from weather and accidents
A Bolivian-registered truck carrying oil became stranded on Route 141 at the border of La Rioja and San Juan provinces after a collision and road damage caused by recent floods. The driver has been waiting for assistance for two weeks, with local truckers offering help but demanding a large fee for a steel chain needed to recover the vehicle. Police are aware, but the driver has not received emergency services.
Separately, Vialidad Nacional temporarily closed a section of National Route 40, known as the Ruta de los Siete Lagos in Neuquén, due to heavy snowfall and ice. Vehicles without required snow chains contributed to the blockage, prompting authorities to halt traffic until the roads could be cleared and conditions deemed safe for travel.
