Argentina gym deaths prompt investigations and calls for exhumations

A physical education teacher at Sport Club recounted the moments after Roberto Cafasso fell and died in the gym's functional training area. The witness described hearing a woman’s scream, finding Cafasso unconscious on the floor, and being instructed by two men who identified themselves as doctors not to move the body. He noted the presence of a police chief who closed the sector until investigators arrived, and mentioned that the gym's mezzanine was not built when the facility opened in November 2025.

In a separate case in Cutral Co, Neuquén province, the family of 38‑year‑old gym instructor Salvador Ferreira learned of his death only through social‑media posts. The relatives allege they were never officially notified, that the body was buried within seven hours, and that no police or prosecutor contacted them. They are now demanding that a court order an exhumation to determine the circumstances of his death, citing alleged irregularities in the handling of the burial process.
