Argentina health centers expand free STI and cervical cancer screenings

Primary health centers (CAPS) across several neighborhoods in Argentina now provide free, confidential testing for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B. The services are offered without the need for an appointment and are staffed by doctors, nurses and health promoters.

The Municipal Health Center (CAMM) No. 1 in the Tabla Redonda district conducted a workshop on the importance of Pap smears and HPV testing. Participants were educated on how the combined tests can detect early cervical changes and reduce the risk of cervical cancer, emphasizing regular check‑ups for women's health.
