Argentina honors youth athlete and theater group

In Corrientes, the Provincial Senate recognized 16-year-old Alejo Pérez Esquivel with the ‘Joven Honorable’ distinction. The award honors his contributions as a high-performance adaptive swimmer, an international author, and a promoter of epilepsy awareness and educational inclusion.

Pérez Esquivel recently achieved significant success in the Argentine Paralympic Swimming League in Córdoba, winning gold medals in the 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, and 50m freestyle events.

In Jujuy, the San Salvador Deliberative Council declared the play ‘Desaparecí dos veces’ and the 20th anniversary of the theater group ADN – Arte de Nosotros – to be of ‘Cultural Interest.’ The play addresses the issue of disappeared persons during the military dictatorship, specifically focusing on victims from the sexual diversity community.
