Historic Triple Dead Heat at San Isidro Hipódromo Marks First Since 1972
On 29 July, the Hipódromo de San Isidro in Argentina recorded a historic triple dead‑heat in the 1,200‑metre Premio En Motoneta race, the first such outcome since 20 February 1972. The three horses – Capricho Urgente, Moreno del Alba and Raijin – crossed the finish line together, and the official marker listed all three as winners. No objections were filed.
The winning jockeys were William Pereyra on Capricho Urgente, Martín Valle on Moreno del Alba, and Rodrigo Bascuñán on Raijin. The race was completed in 1:12.18. The event was celebrated as a milestone in Argentine turf history, occurring 54 years after the previous triple dead‑heat at the same venue.
