Argentina women's basketball squad named for South American qualifier in Zárate

Argentina's senior women's basketball team announced a 12‑player roster for the South American Qualifier to be held in Zárate from 3 to 9 August 2026. Coach Gregorio Martínez confirmed the list, which includes Sol Castro (the Río Colorado forward who plays in the United States), Agostina Burani, Diana Cabrera and other veterans. The tournament will determine four spots for the 2027 FIBA AmeriCup in El Salvador, with Argentina entering as defending regional champions.

The competition features eight nations divided into two groups. Group A contains Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Paraguay; Group B includes Brazil, Venezuela and Chile. Chile added forward Valentina Ojeda to its senior squad, while Venezuela's roster highlights Roselis Silva, Daniela Wallen and Waleska Pérez among others. All matches will be streamed via Básquet Pass and tickets are available through Básquet ID.
