Argentina hosts events honoring Diego Maradona legacy

Various cultural and academic events are scheduled across Argentina to honor the legacy of Diego Armando Maradona.

In Córdoba, the tradition of ‘El Mes del Diego’ continues, moving to the Pulki venue. This initiative, which began in 2013, features a festival of art, music, and community activities designed to celebrate the footballer's impact on collective memory.

Simultaneously, the National University of La Plata (UNLP) will host the II International Congress on Diego Armando Maradona, titled ‘Tras las huellas de su legado’ (Following the tracks of his legacy), from October 29 to 31. The free event will include academic debates, conferences, and panels covering topics such as journalism, geopolitics, literature, human rights, and gender.

Notable participants include sports figures, writers, and journalists, alongside a delegation from the Accademia Napoletana to discuss Maradona's connection to Naples. The program also includes a specialized lecture at the La Plata Astronomical Observatory regarding Maradona's cultural impact.
