Argentina hosts major artisan fair and ceramics lecture
Argentina is hosting significant cultural events focused on traditional and contemporary crafts. In Bahía Blanca, the 35th edition of the National Meeting of Artisans is taking place at Plaza Rivadavia. The event, themed “35 years making art happen,” expects approximately 400 exhibitors from across Argentina and neighboring countries, featuring diverse crafts such as ceramics, wood, leather, metal, and textiles, alongside daily musical and circus performances.
Additionally, the Museo Pampeano is hosting the first “More than the object” Art and Craft Meeting. The event features a lecture by visual artist and ceramist Manuel Sigüenza regarding the material condition of both contemporary and archaeological ceramics. Sigüenza’s work, including his exhibition “Eslabón Leyes,” draws inspiration from ceramic findings discovered in the 1930s near Arroyo Leyes in Santa Fe.
