Argentina implements dengue prevention and homelessness surveys

In Posadas, the municipality has launched the 44th LIRAa operation (Rapid Index Survey of Aedes aegypti) to strengthen dengue prevention. The initiative aims to inspect approximately 6,500 homes to identify mosquito breeding sites in patios and outdoor spaces. Mayor Leonardo Stelatto noted that the city conducts three such measurements annually to maintain updated epidemiological data and direct sanitary interventions effectively.

In San Miguel de Tucumán, a national survey conducted by the Ministry of Human Capital identified 159 people living on the streets. Nationally, the survey counted 9,421 individuals across 19 provinces, with 83% being men and 17% women. Local official Elizabeth Rodríguez reported that 50% of those in the city's shelter have completed primary school, while the remaining 50% completed secondary school. She highlighted that nearly 95% of the surveyed population faces issues with substance consumption, which often impacts their educational and family trajectories.
