Argentina implements new child rights and alternative care initiatives

Various Argentine regions are implementing new initiatives to strengthen the protection of rights for children and adolescents. In Olavarría, the Subsecretariat for Integral Rights Protection has launched inter-institutional workshops. These sessions bring together public agencies, social organizations, family courts, and educational representatives to establish common intervention criteria and address complex situations involving minors.

In Tierra del Fuego, the Ministry of Citizen Wellbeing and Justice signed a collaboration agreement with the civil association DONCEL. This agreement incorporates the province into the Federal Table for the Transformation of Alternative Care. The initiative aims to strengthen public policies that prioritize family and community-based environments over institutionalization, supporting foster families and extended family networks for children undergoing exceptional protection measures.
