Argentina implements new tourism and environmental regulations
Regional authorities in Argentina are implementing new measures to regulate and formalize tourism activities. In San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, the municipality is developing a proposal to formalize temporary accommodations. The initiative includes the creation of a Municipal Portal for Tourism Service Providers to organize and increase the visibility of local services. The project aims to simplify municipal procedures and offers benefits such as official promotion, specialized seals for providers, and potential access to preferential credit for infrastructure and security improvements.
In Río Negro, the provincial government is working to organize tourism within the Río Limay Natural Protected Area. Officials met with residents and service providers in Villa Llanquín to discuss requirements for the environmental adaptation and licensing of campsites. The focus includes waste management, water resource usage, and effluent management to ensure that tourism activities comply with conservation standards for the protected territory. The goal is to regularize establishments while minimizing impacts on biodiversity, soil, and water.
