Argentina implements security operations for major public events
Authorities in Argentina have successfully implemented large-scale security and assistance operations for major public gatherings. In General Alvear, the Beer Festival concluded without reported accidents, thefts, or fights. The operation utilized a mobile monitoring station equipped with fixed cameras, a dome, and Starlink connectivity to coordinate with emergency services. Security Coordinator Luis Alcaíno noted that the success was due to joint efforts between security forces, municipal areas, and the local community, including taxi and truck drivers.
In Jujuy, the provincial government and the municipality of Palpalá coordinated an integral assistance and security plan for the first pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Río Blanco and Paypaya. The deployment included 200 police officers, drones, and identification bracelets to support thousands of pilgrims. Ariel Mamaní, Director General of Emergencies, stated that strategic assistance points were established to provide immediate support to devotees during the religious event.
