Argentina inaugurates Necochea cultural festival and El Calafate cultural center

The Municipal Cultural Center of Necochea launched the first Fiesta de la Cultura on 16 October, a free public event at bar WO that included live music, audiovisual screenings and the presentation of the honorary “Ramal” awards to local artists. Organiser Leonela Laborde said, “Queremos reconocer a todos los artistas del distrito. Sabemos que son muchísimos y que realizan un aporte fundamental a la comunidad.”

In El Calafate, the municipality unveiled a $3 billion project to convert the former bus terminal into a new cultural centre integrated with the existing centre. The plan adds modern spaces for music, dance, reading and visual arts, and the city handed instruments to its municipal symphonic band. Mayor Javier Belloni thanked the community, adding, “Desde El Calafate nos sumamos para desearle un muy feliz cumpleaños” to Lionel Messi on his birthday.
