Argentina industrial production declines in July

Argentine industrial activity declined in July, continuing a period of stagnation that has persisted since mid-2025. According to leading indicators from the Centro de Estudios de la Unión Industrial Argentina (CEU-UIA), manufacturing production saw a seasonally adjusted monthly decrease of 0.6 percent.

In the first seven months of 2026, manufacturing production has accumulated a decline of approximately 2 percent. The sectors most heavily impacted include construction, automotive, and durable goods. Specifically, cement shipments fell 4.6 percent in July, and the Construya Index, which tracks input sales for the construction sector, decreased by 0.8 percent.

While year-on-year comparisons showed a 1.4 percent improvement in July, analysts noted this was influenced by a low comparison base from the previous year. Long-term data indicates that current production levels remain 11 percent below 2022 levels.
