Argentina inflation accelerates in September, challenging government targets
Private estimates suggest Argentina's inflation accelerated in September, with projections ranging between 1.8% and 2%, up from the 1.7% recorded in August. This upward trend challenges the government's annual inflation target of 29% set in the 2027 Budget.
While official data from INDEC is pending, various consultancies indicate that the deceleration of prices has lost momentum. Key drivers for the increase include rising regulated prices, fuel costs, and seasonal factors. To meet the official target, monthly inflation would need to average approximately 1.55% between September and December.
Economic analysts from firms such as GMA Capital, Analytica, and Invecq project year-end inflation figures around 30.5%. Experts noted that the evolution of fuel prices and international geopolitical tensions, such as the conflict between Iran and the United States, remain critical variables for future price stability.
