Argentina job seekers’ salary expectations rise to average 1.78 million pesos
A recent Bumeran survey shows the average gross salary that Argentine workers aim for in June 2026 is about 1,780,000 pesos per month. Desired earnings are highest in senior management (around 2.8 million pesos) and in the mining, petroleum and gas sector (about 2.56 million pesos). Engineering, technology and finance fields also report expectations near the 1.5‑2 million‑peso range, while customer‑service, call‑center and secretarial roles are at the lower end, just above 1 million pesos.
The survey highlights widespread dissatisfaction with pay: 87 % of respondents say their salary is insufficient for basic needs, and 74 % report a worsening purchasing power. Moreover, 73 % say their earnings last less than two weeks before they need to stretch for the next pay‑check. Analysts note that even as inflation slows, real wages have not kept pace, underscoring challenges for household consumption and economic stability in Argentina.
