Argentina joins Kyoto Vision to advance AI-driven scientific research

Argentina has joined the Kyoto Vision for a ‘Golden Age of Science,’ a White House-led initiative involving 17 countries. The program aims to utilize superintelligent artificial intelligence to accelerate scientific discovery by expanding researcher access to AI tools, scientific data, computing infrastructure, and new funding mechanisms for talent development.

This move follows Argentina's decision not to sign the Delhi Declaration earlier this year, a major diplomatic agreement involving 88 countries and organizations focused on shared AI governance, risk reduction through the Trusted AI Commons, and democratizing access to semiconductors and computing power. While the Delhi Declaration emphasized preventive measures and applications in health and agriculture, the Kyoto Vision focuses on scientific advancement.

Signatories of the Kyoto Vision include the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Chile. Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, described superintelligence applied to science as a potentially massive democratizing force for research.
